my dome light does not work, solutions i did check the fuse, its no 27 on mine 10 amp and working fine, i dont see any rips or wire disconnected except for the seat belt wire, would that cause it?

i have a multimeter but i dont know how to use it to test the connection any advice would be appreciated

no, the seat belt wire wouldnt' cause it.

try rolling your dimmer switch all the way up. that should turn it on. the other way is inside the door, at the latch. it may be disconnected if someone had the problem with the light staying on all the time

i tried the dimmer switch but no avail, i tried a different fixture from another ranger 1997, mine is just flat light fixture while the other one is round with a toggle switch on it but still no avail, ill probably past autozone and grab me a new set of door switches on it see if that fixes the problem

did you check the bulb? the dimmer switch should turn it on even if the wiring at the door latch is disconnected.

the bulb is new, i bought two pieces of light bulb from the dealer which cost 4 dollar each, then went to a local autozone and found the same set of two piece pack of bulbs for 3.50 , lol you see how much the dealer charge for the same bulb, all four of them dont work, my dash light comes on when i roll up the dimmer but the dome light doesnt please ant more ideas?

maybe dimmer switch is bad?

i tried to check the switch on the passenger side and it gives me 12 volts on it, but still no dome light im losing hope already any one can help me please

if the output side of the switch reads 12 to ground and the bulb socket doesn't, then the problem is in the middle of those two bits.
