Question 2.3l idle speed adjustments

Having just picked up my '97 XLT with the 2.3L engine, it has revealed an interesting issue that I expect is normal but would like to correct.

With the AC running, the vents blow almost frigidly cold as long as the truck is moving and when I hold the gas pedal down a bit at a stop sign or light. However, without that added throttle, the AC relay clicks on and off in about a 10-second cycle due to engine idle being too low to handle the added demand of the compressor. Most vehicle accommodate by upping the idle about 100-150rpm so it can handle the added load, but so far I've not been able to figure out how to make this engine adjust idle speed automatically.

Is there a tweak I can make or a computer code I can adjust to up the idle only when the AC is switched on?

Wish I knew exactly what to point you at. I believe there is a relay between the A/C circuitry and somewhere on the throttle body area.
