Same treatment I got. They wonder why no one wants to buy their products anymore. They should be looking at it as a new way to cultivate future customers. They are short term thinkers and very very stooopid people.

it says in the dealer bulletin they are to do the recall at customer request if they don't live in a humid area

I live in a very humid area, and so does/did the original owner. And it just occurred to me, although I'm the second owner of the Sport the actual proverbial little old lady who bought it new, though she lived an hour east of here, purchased it here at the local DS that I called.

Dang, now I want a do-over on that phone call I just made.

I combined your post with the overall airbag recall "sticky" information.

Looks like they have "expanded" the recall once again (this one is the passenger-side front air bags).

"The vehicles affected in the expanded Ford recall are the 2007-2010 Ford Edge, 2006-2011 Ford Fusion, 2005-2011 Ford Mustang, 2007-2011 Ford Ranger, 2007-2010 Lincoln MKX and 2006-2011 Lincoln MKZ, Zephyr and Mercury Milan."

Hard to believe Ford just came out with airbag recall on Ford Rangers 2007 to 2010 after all these months/years. I have a 2010 Ranger - reg. cab. - 4 cylinder, auto. Called Ford dealership in my area (MD) today and was told my 2010 was not on the air bag recall list, yet internet says 2010 Ford rangers have defective Takata airbags that need to be replaced. So help me out here - am I getting the run around and Ford is not being up front with me on this serious safety issue or could there be (two types for Ford Rangers) with one having approved airbags and the other have defective. Maybe I need to enter my VIN into some - air bag recall check list but thought I'd check the board here for an answer. At this point I don't trust car manufactures to give out accurate information since airbag recalls for cars are growing daily. Anyone else have a 2007 to 2010 Ford Ranger who was also told ignore recent airbag recall warnings.

yours is not in the list. I work for a ford dealer and only the ones in the far south fall in that range for 07-11. 07-08 are everywhere though

Sorry, do you mean all 07-08 Rangers are being recalled?

yes. For the airbag inflators. Only the ones in the southern us are 07-11. Northern us is 07-08 only. Your ranger is in the clear

djfllmn - Thanks for the quick replay. I did a VIN check on my 2010 Ranger and nothing comes up under Air Bag recall. With that said - you have to admit the (public) right now has very little faith in NHTSA since it seems every week a new vehicle or new (year) vehicle is added to the air bag recall list. Question - are you saying that Ford Rangers sold up North were not installed with Takata air bags? If that is true do you happen to know the name of the air bag manufacturer (other then Takata) that Ford used? Very puzzled why Ford would use certain airbags for Ranger trucks down South but use a different brand up north.
