Cruise control install

I was wondering what I should do to install cruise control on my ranger? It's an 04 Edge 3.0 manual, and it doesn't have the cruise control servo, so I assume it is not prewired. I am semi technically inclined but not the best, I wouldn't mind having someone else do it, but I'm not sure who I would take it to and I don't won't to spend too much $$.

Do you have an electrical plug attached to your fender between your washer fluid reservoir and hvac box? That would mean you are prewired.

Do you have power windows and door locks? What about fog lights? Usually if you have all of those you are prewired.

If the servo was there you would have cruise control. Ford wouldn't put a servo in there just to not put the rest in there.

I will look later cuz I'm out of town but everything is manual, I do have fog lights though....

it's on the fender between that washer bottle in the black HVAC box.

Buy a aftermarket cruise control kit not to hard to install.

those are usually crap compared to the oem system.

If your gonna have to wire it yourself why not just go for the oem one?

The only vehicle I've ever had an aftermarket cruise control installed on was a 1996 Suzuki Esteem wagon with a 5 speed manual transmission. Had a local accessories shop install it. They did a great job with the install...everything looked like it came from the factory.

However, the cruise control itself sucked. It didn't really ever keep a constant speed. It was always accellerating or decellerating so you'd stay within 5 mph of your set speed, but it was never a constant speed.

After only a few days, we took it back and they uninstalled it and refunded all of our money.
