Default Low heat

Ok so Ive replaced tstat, flushed heater core and truck runs at normal temp and the heater hoses both feel hot but low heat output. Pulled glove box down and blend door motor is working along with the door itself from what I can hear. After a 20 min ride it starts to warm up but not a lot. It is a 99 3.0. Help me please. Am I gonna have to cut open heater box just to make sure door is moving all the way

Have you checked the position of the valve on the hose going into the heater core to make sure it is opening when you turn heat on? It may be a vacuum issue...

Have you burped the cooling system properly? Sound like you may have trapped air(air pocket)in the system.

Yea bypassed it. Took it off made sure it was open and i blew through it fine. The vacuum hose works it properly but i just went ahead and took it off for now until i figure it out

Well julius i have taken the rad cap off and cranked it and let if spill over a bit. It is circulating through overflow jug

Hum... Yeah, either the water is not hot enough or it's not making through the core or the air is not blowing over the core and getting to the cabin... I'll turn my heater on and see what the hose temps read under the hood. That should get you a reference to see if hot coolant is getting in and over the core if you do the same...

Well... If they are both hot then that seems to indicate the coolant is making it through the core. That would only leave air across the core. I just had my dash out to replace the core but I don't remember where the door was that routed air accross the core. Seems you could figure that out without having to 'cut' something open...

Install a motorcraft 190 or 192 tstat. What 185 degree tstat did you use?

I'm putting a thermostat in it today, but I'm suspect on the fact that he told me he flushed all the coolant about 2 months ago I'm betting that there is air in the system.
