If it's a weak splice, then it could. You're also risking exposing the copper to the elements, which could lead to the wire itself corroding out. Just make sure it's a solid splice and the result is very well sealed.

Edit: Duh, interior. In that case, corrosion is pretty much no concern at all. It's still a good idea to seal it up though. You never know.

Here's a site with complete wiring diagrams for your specific truck.

Go to www.bbbind.com .

Select TSB Database, then Wiring Diagrams. Enter your truck info. From there you can choose what Category you need. It's all there, including wire colors to help you trace problems.

Well i connected the lights to the change drawer light and pop i blew the fuse.
So i went to advanced auto and the guy said that if i put a higher wattage fuse in it could burn up my wires, etc. but if i have the led lights spliced into it would it equal out and not cause any problems using a higher wattage fuse. By the way i blew the dashboard fuse. I guess the change light was already spliced into it. The standard fuse for the dash is 10w, so is it safe to use a higher watt fuse if im also using it to run interior led lights?

Never use higher amp fuse than what's recommended you will have to pull your dash out to rewire it.

----------

You must have spliced the wrong wire?

I spliced the led lights into the change drawer light but im guessing that the light was already spliced into the dash lights so when i spliced the led lights into the change drawer light it over powered the fuse and blew it. Or i might have touched the negative wire with the postive could that have blown the fuse?
