Yes, the ones on the Crutchfield site are the new models. I you want them warranted and/or backed up, better look on the Sonic Electronix site for the older models fairly discounted maybe. Might get lucky and call Crutchfield and find some older models cheap and have the best coverage.

Re: Changing door speakers?
Wow. These new Infinity Refs (model 6832cf) are WAY better than 1997 stock Ford. So much more clarity & range, night vs. day. I also had to dial back the EQ to flat, since I had cranked up both Bass & Treble for old stock speakers. Thanks for the recco.

Yep they are pretty much a no brainer because of the extremely low power from stock headunit (~10 watts rms/ch) or even aftermarket headunits (~14-22 watts rms/ch) being they are around 2.7-3.3 ohms impedance and high sensitivity. Yes, I also figgered out they are best with flat EQ and I like the tweeter attenuator button. You should hear the Kappas with only a 4x50 amp. Amazing. You're welcome !

Re: Changing door speakers?
i just replaced mine too, i had a friend of mine that was going out of business, he had a stereo shop. he sold alot of stuff on craigslist, but some of the things he didn't sell he agve to me.
i put 4 new speakers in, 2 in the doors, 2 in the rear behind the seats. i wired each set to a separate amp. my 2 door speakers have their own amp, the 2 rear speakers have their own amp, the single sub has its own amp! I used the stock 6 disk changer bc i love the fact of having the 6 disks in dash. it is a good set up, i enjoy it.
