Default Not enough Head Room

Hello,

I'm a bit tall side, and I was wondering if there was away to modify the interior of my 2004 extended cab 4x4 ranger, to give me more room above my head.

Problem is, the ceiling dips down about an inch the middle right above where my head is causing it to almost rub my head. I don't know if there is a functional reason for this, because my last ranger did not have this. And then the ceiling goes back to normal height in the back.

Is there a replacement ceiling that I can get without the dip in it? Did previous extended cab models have a ceiling without the dip that will fit? Or can I somehow make something that will work that does not have the dip in the ceiling right across my head?

Any Ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well there are a few things I am 6'4" So what I did to give me more room is I took out my seat and Cut an 1"1/2 off the floor mounts and welded it back together witch gave me enough room. You can also get an 98-2001 head liner if I remember correct they are differnt then yours without the Hump. Witch ever is easer. The only down side about what I did is the bitch seat now rub's on the cab Hump but I dont move my seat to much.

Thanks for the great ideas so far. What year is your truck, smakes? I might be able to replace it with that model, as previously mentioned. Maybe this is the best Idea. I can't weld to save my life, and I also thought about taking down my headliner, modifying it somehow, putting a new fabric on it, and putting it back up.
