If wired correctly and the unit is functional, the compass will work when the key is in the on position. All you have to do is calibrate it to the region of the country where you live. A piece of cake. Very hand to have.

how did you guys mount your temp sensor using zip ties or what?

I mounted mine using the stock plastic clip. I was lucky to have one intact. It is mounted behind the headlamp using factory mounting holes. No drilling required.

Out of curiosity, where did you install the temp sensor, or is there any place thats the easiest to install this at all?
