Default Headlight troubles

So for some uknown reason my driver side headlight stopped working, I thought it was the HIDs burning out but no, the bulb works when plugged into the passenger same with all the ballasts and everything. So i got out my tester light and started poking the headlight socket and it was dead, and i checked all the wires behind the bulb socket and no juice. Stripped down the factory wire cover and saw no physical damage.

So my question is are there any fusable links in the wires that i can check are blown? Or if anyone knows how I can fix this problem. If not ill probably just have a local mechanic or dealership fix it. But why pay if I can do it myself?

Check all the high amperage fuses in the fuse box under the hood. On my 08 XL, it doesn't have any fuseable links that I've seen.

Why not pull up the free schematics for your vehicle over on bbbind.com and trace the wiring? Also, not sure on an 02, but in your travels you *may* find that each low beam has it's own fuse like newer ones do.
