Ok .. So I might have messed up my Ranger !!!!
So i decided instead of going for the white face gauges I would stick with the black ones and just get red LEDs to make everything red ..... I knew i would have to sand off the green paint pn the back of them so I did .... when I put everything back together and started my truck ... My tach doesnt work, my oil pressure is now pointing to the left, and even when im not moving it says im going 10 mph. Did I screw myself here ??? I didnt want to buy whiteface gauges because I wanted to keep mine with my miles on it just in cases I would ever have to sell it. Is there a way to fix this ????

you didn't set your needles back where they came off. reset your needles. make sure they aren't pushed down too far (your tach)

keep the clear cover off of the gauges and start your truck again and place teh oil one and other ones where they would be normally....doing the temperature one make sure you drive around a while before setting it in the middle or just wait over night and place it where it would be when its completely cold out. speedometer is a bit more difficult...you'll have to calibrate it.

When I did this, I had to have the clear cover off and my buddy in the truck. I hooked up my gps and it told me how fast I was going. My buddy took the wheel and i calibrated based off the GPS. Then completely fill my gas tank to calibrate the gas.

Thats exactly what you want to do. Leave the ones that are right, snd put the others where they should be while the trucks running. If you dont have a GPS the speed is gonna be tricky

I didn't use a GPS for mine and my cluster was on my shop table when i calibrated the needle on the speedometer but this way also required a reading before taking the needle off to begin with, so its useless now haha.

Im not sure, but if he needed to recalibrate the speed couldnt he just stand still at 0 MPH and move the needle to 0 MPH? Just a thought

That would work, if the speed went down to zero. On my gauge, at least, it goes down only to 10, so there would be a little difference.

use a friend that has a car and a cell phone (these are hard to find....) and follow them while talking on speakerphone of course because talking driving and sticking needles might be dangerous. but anyhow that would get you close enough as long as you don't use that extra 9 over driving style
