You can basically put any color LED clearly through "no-color" clear plastic. If the plastic itself is transparent-yellowish or transparent-orange the blue light won't want to pass through.
For visual example:
Take a stock 2004 Orange-plastic needle, and an aftermarket Clear needle:
Set up some blue LEDs on your desk:
Punch a few holes in some cardboard, and try and get the light to pass through the needles:
The blue light won't pass through the orange plastic!

Re: 2003 Ranger Cluster - LED Lighting Project
yeah, i already saw that thread, im not too fond of the doors, they look like light savers from afar, i was interested in voilet LED's for the cluster, great job on the doors though, its a cool idea, i just dont like how you can see the strips from a distance! dude what kind of soldering gun do you have?, i have a cheap one that i know is not capable of doing the ones in the cluster.

I have about 10 different soldering tools.
You can use the strips in the cluster also.

How much would you charge me to drill t he plastic for me so I would do all the LEDs on em? Thanks

You want me to make you LED rings, or just drill the holes in the glass?

Re: 2003 Ranger Cluster - LED Lighting Project
Question about the LED needles, where can I get some vinyl plastic stuff at and the resistors, were they both connected and soldered together on the positive side or not? Thanks JP!
