Re-upholstered driver's seat
The gray cloth and vinyl seats in my 2001 Edge were in great shape with the exception of the panel on the left edge of the driver's seat, where your butt slides in and out a zillion times in the life of the truck. It slowly cracked and then the foam started showing over about a 3 year period. It drove me crazy.
I started looking at seat covers and for the money you pay I didn't think I'd be happy with even the fitted ones. I'm just that kind of nut. So, there is a family-run upholstery shop about a mile from me and one day I decided to stop and ask about having that one worn panel replaced in my otherwise perfect seats. I was surprised to find that they would replace it with OEM fabric that they had on hand, for $220, all in one day... less costly than some seat covers I'd been checking out. A week later my seat is fixed, with the vinyl panels on the left, (top and side) re-done... a perfect match. The bill lists the part number for that gray vinyl: "V6547 Dark Graphite."
if your upholstery just needs minor work, I highly recommend checking around your area for a shop and get it priced out. Check out my before and after photos.

Beautiful repair. What did you charge for the repair and recover?

I don't blame you, I like it too!
The replacement of the foam by the op impressed me. I enjoy seeing someone do something I can't do. I've drawn crowds doing soldering work. Folks say they can't do what I do. It's so easy to me.
Everyone has a talent for something. That makes the world interesting.

you walked away with a steal. i usually get around twice that for a set of seats alone. last set of explorer seats i did in leather was $1300. the set of ranger seats shown above were just under $800

I didn't use leather. I wanted the vinyl. It's soft and doesn't have the price tag of leather lol. I'm still waiting for them though
