Default Bucket seats

No storage are in my truck so need bucket seats so i can put a center console in the middle. PLUS DRINK HOLDERS!!! lol. cant go without those. i think buckets are more comfertable anyway. I hear explorer seats fit, if anyone can tell me what years fit an 89 ranger, that would help, and it would help more they had some to give. i dont have a lotta cash, but perhaps someones looking for a bench ( some people prefer those, tho i dunno why), and we can make a straight trade. my bench is in almost perfect condition. about the one part of the truck not torn up by previous owners.

Here is what seats will bolt in to a Ranger: This is only a partial list to get ya thinking....

Tempo/Topaz

All years. Tempo GT's are the nicest. Tilting "pillow" headrest and frequently power lumbar.

Escort/Lynx

1981-1991? GT's again are the nicest, "Halo" style headrest, sometimes power lumbar.

Mustang

Don't bother looking they will be gone when you get there. If you're lucky, look for Mustang GT's. Also halo style headrests on GTs.

Thunderbird

1982-1988, Turbocoupe has nicest seats same as Mustang GT but with tilting "pillow" head rests, almost always power-lumbar, adjustable thigh support, adjustable side bolsters on base. The best factory ford seat (IMHO).

explorer/ mountaineer

all explorer seats will work

IF you fabricate your own seat tracks. the seat tracks in an extended cab are longer than a std cab, and expo tracks are identical in length to the ext cab tracks

or you can just unbolt the ranger tracks and put them on the explorer seats. you would lose the power option, but nothing to fabricate.

How would putting the Explorer bucket seats on Ranger seat tracks get rid of the purpose of Explorer seats? You would still have a bucket seat without having to fab up seat brackets.

The Ranger's 60/40 driver seat doesn't have a frame under the center section.

Power leather seats in Explorers were not the norm. Majority of them were manual.

not sure about that. the last four sets i have pulled have had power drivers, in both cloth and leather, and one set has power passenger as well. i think it was a pretty common feature.
