Want to Buy: 2001-2003 CD-6 Factory Head Unit

Hey guys,

I just bought a 2003 Ranger Edge and I need a 2001-2003 CD-6 Factory Head Unit. The previous owner took the stereo out and there's just a empty space there now.

I have a 2001 single disc stock cd player if you're interested. I'll sell it cheap I'm just trying to get rid of it.

I have the stock one out of my 2001. 6 disc. But when I took it out it said Cd error. So I don't know how easy that is to fix or if it matters. If you're interested let me know.

Don't do it, I have one in my truck, It always has the CD ERROR, It has a way of keeping my CD's also. This is a very common problem with the factory 6 CD changer, regardless of year. The radio part works great but the CD part not so good. I plan on changing the radio with a good aftermarket one soon, its probably a better idea if you like your CD's also...

my dads mustang had the CD6 head unit and whenever it got hot it loved to not eject CDs until it cooled down lol...get the MACH head unit...a lot nicer IMO

Yeah man, these factory units seem to Like my CD's better than I do, My brother in law had the same problem in his Mustang 6 CD changer too LOL !!!

my dad has an 02 explorer and same problem...but no surprise with that truck lol

Its too bad because the radio sounds real good but they all eventually "Cd Error"

I recommend a aftermarket head unit As you can see, the 6 disks are plagued with problems. And a aftermarket unit has more options and features

The disc error is a big problem in the Focus's as well..

I have a good working 6-disc from my focus if anybody knows if it would fit? I have no way of checking now..

Yeah, I know how bad those CD-6 units are. My 2004 CD-6 head unit quit working. (just the CD player)
The aftermarket units do have more options but I just want to go with the stock look. I would buy a double din stereo if I could get it for under 100 bucks, but I know that's not very likely.

Yeah, I've seen those MACH head units ... they look really nice, but I bet they're hard to find.
Can you ask some members over on R-F if they have one for sale since I'm banned from the site?

theyre actually not that hard to find...a lot of rangers came with them including mine...i think most of the higher end XLTs and FX4s have them

I just looked everywhere around my garage and basement and cant seem to find it. Sorry man. But it looks like someone else has one too
