Went and checked the instructions. Maybe it's just my crappy work computer but I can't really read them. Kinda blurry. I'll check on my actual laptop tonight. Also are all of the LED panels that bright white? And does the one panel light up completely with each map light?

Just curious because my 'stang dome has a yellow LED for the courtesy light (which is nice and not too bright) but then has bright white LEDs for the individual map light. I'd like to do something similar with my personal OHC too.

It could be the resolution of the images, only like 200dpi when I did them.
One of these days I'm gonna do a better video for my YouTube channel, but the install is super simple. No special tools required, just a couple screwdrivers & wire cutters.

The panels I'm doing now may require a slight mod to the ohc, but again nothing complicated at all. There are 3 little nubs left from the injection molding process of the ohc body that need to be trimmed off with wire cutters. They're on the inside top area where the panel goes & they have no actual use aside from getting in the way of the panel. A quick snip & they're gone for good I'll try to get some pics of the nubs to add to my photobucket album too.

They're all really bright. I've done several variations on them but it seems like the 48 led versions have nearly as much light as the 60 led versions & the 48 led panels leave a little more room for the voltage regulator & wiring, so that will probably be the model I do for a while now.
Most of the pics I have in my 'bucket are the 5mm led versions, but on special occasions I'll do some using the even brighter superflux led's. The superflux led's are a lot more expensive than the 5mm led's, but I can use a few less of them with the same light output.

The left/right side map light switches will control each side independently and they both will come on with the dome light.
Unlike the old bulbs that throw light more to the left & right, the led panels do tend to have a slightly narrower viewing angle... but how many times do you really need that much light right over your door armrest? HA!

Teaser:
I just started on a one of a kind special ohc led panel too. You guys will have to stay tuned for more.

I had some messages from RANGAAA concerning an oddity he found with one of his ohc's. There's apparently a couple styles of ohc's, one of which has an oddly placed connector for the electronics as shown in his pic:

That connector is gonna be in the way of the led panel or the panel is gonna be in the way of the connector. Not to worry for anyone who has one of these odd ohc's, I'll be designing a new led panel that will have clearance made for that connector so everything should fit just fine. It will be a bit before I have any finished so hang in there with me.

I've only heard of this a couple times & the first person who got one of my regular led panels just returned his ohc to his junk yard for one that didn't have the connector, no harm no foul.
Since there's the possibility of someone getting one of those "odd" ohc's, I thought I had better come up with a solution before it becomes an issue. They may be rare or it could be from a specific year or from a specific color ohc, I'm not sure
If you have one of these "odd" ohc's drop me a message & let me know you have the "odd" ohc so you'll get the correct led panel

I believe this "odd" ohc also had all black wiring where most others have color coded wires to the light housing. It's gonna be hard for me to say the black wire goes to this and the other black wire goes to that, so there may be a little trial & error on the end user side to get the wiring correct. There should be 2 power wires, one to left side, one to right side & a common ground that runs to each side.
The ground wire doesn't matter which side it comes from as it's a common wire to both sides.
The power wires will control either side by the switch, so you'll need to test the wire in one side of the ohc led panel to see which side comes on... if it's the wrong side, just move that wire to the other connector on the led panel

On another note:
RANGAA & mritchie1977 will soon be offering my OHC LED panels Pre-installed on some of their OHC's. Hopefully this will help save you guys wanting ohc's & my led panels some money... since you won't have to buy an ohc & pay shipping then get a led panel & pay shipping... not to mention you won't even need to install the panel, just wire up the ohc & go

They'll still be official buggman led panels & I'll still sign every one I do.

These guys have found some good sources for ohc's & it wouldn't be cost effective for me to buy an ohc here & there to install led panels in & still keep them super affordable so this should be a good alternative for those guys who want the package deal.

I've had transactions with both & they seem like good guys so I'm glad to help them out.

I'll still be doing the led panels for you guys who already have your own ohc's & from time to time I may have a complete ohc kit too (I have one in the works right now shhhhh!) but I just don't have room for a ton of ohc's nor do I have time to test & mod them all the time I'd rather focus on coming up with new cool ideas & getting caught up with other mods right now.

Both.

Note: camera focused to make the picture clear. They are way brighter then in the pics. Also super easy to install.

Hey guys,
I will be doing more of these as soon as I get back in the swing of things.
I have a few blank panels cut & painted (got them done a while ago, but haven't been able to get to them lately), just need to get all the led's & electronics installed. I'll update the thread here when I have some ready to go.
