Exclamation 2001 Ranger XLT Radio Bezel

I would like to purchase a radio bezel for a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT. The radio bezel I seek has the cig lighter on the top left side. One the right side of the bezel are two items. At the top of the right side is an aux cig light jack and underneath it is the fog lamp switch.

Everything I have seen on e-bay has only the cig lighter on the left side--which must have been the standard bezel. Again, I need one that has the additional two items on the right side of the radio bezel. I am not sure if the bezel's were all colored black...but is the color I seek. Thanks.

Is this the bezel you are looking for? Is it for 4x4 as well?

That is nearly correct...Mine does not have the fan control on the top right side. Where the fan control is located in your picture is the cig lighter holder on mine. The right side of bezel is correct. It is not for a 4 X 4--just a regular ranger xlt. I keep trying to attach a picture on mine but I can seem to get the size down to the required size. Thanks for the reply.

On the pictured bezel, top left 4x4 switch, bottom left cigarette lighter, top right 12v adapter, bottom right fog light switch. If this isn't one you need look up a member on here called BUGGMAN, He modifies them and can refinish it for you as well. I am swapping the one pictured out with one I got from him that was modified so that one will be up for grabs at a later time

I will look up Buggman...Can you let me know when "yours" will be available. I purchased the truck used for my son who is 17. The bezel is cracked fairly extensively in 2 places...So I need a replacement. I was finally able to attached a picture of the right side..The width limitation of attached pictures prohibited me from showing the left side..I may try another crop of the photo and attach a snap shot of the left side too. Thanks again for the quick reply. I am encouraged after spending the last two weeks searching the internet and e-bay, etc. Thank you. JimC

I will try photobucket...I was finally able to get two thumbnail photos attached. I do have another question for you...I assume that the bezel would not include the cig lighter, aux 12v jack and the fog light switch, correct? I would need to use those parts from my existing dash, yes? The reason I ask is that while the cig lighter and 12v aux jack appear easy to remove--the fog light switch appears to be "off-set" in the hole. I really can't fully remove the bezel given the cracks for fear of a total collapse of the bezel once I remove it from the dash. I have pulled out the bezel as far as I am comfortable with---and again the only issue I see would how to get the fog light switch out of my bezel without destroying it in the process. Additional advice is welcome. Thanks.

if you already have the 12v adapter and cig lighter you can just put them in the new bezel. The foglight switch has a bracket on the back that unscrews and the switch will just slide out from there. If you pull the bezel out use a 9/32 socket to remove the 2 screws under thw radio, those are the mount screws for the bezel. After that the bezel is just held in by 4 clips and you just pop the bezel out, before pulling it completley out you must unplug the fog switch and other adapters mounted to the bezel. For right now I recommend taking the bezel off and reinforcing it with crazy glue, gorilla glue etc until you find a new one. If you glue it make sure you glue it while the bezel is off the dash and away from harnesses and plug.

I looked at your pics but I see no damage whatsoever, Can you put more up?

Question Re: 2001 Ranger XLT Radio Bezel

Clinton,
Thanks for the additional information. The picture I put up is one from used a ranger for sale at a local dealership as it is the only bezel that I have seen in person or on the internet (e-bay included} that matches the one I have. I have been looking at other replacement parts, etc. for my son's ranger at dealerships, junk yards, etc. It was a cell phone quality picture, but I think it shows the bezel that I seek.

I did send buggman a private message, but do you know if he can make the holes on the right side of the bezel? The reason I ask is that I just found a bezel on e-bay that has the cig ligher on the left side only---but nothing on the right side. This would mean that buggman would need to make the two "holes" on the left side for the aux 12v plug and the fog light switch. Wow, I am not sure how one would do this modification. THANKS for your continued patience in answering my questions...greatly appreciated.

Anytime, I think the buggman will come through for you. He does awesome work. If you want mine I will let you know when I take it out and buggman can modify it, he would just have to cover up the 4x4 switch hole

Clinton,
Thank you very much for all of your posts to assist me. Buggman is looking for a bezel...but once you switch yours out and he hasn't found one--maybe we can work a deal to have Buggman to modify yours. Again, thank you for the great information. Greatly appreciated.
Jim
