Discussion Thread: How-to: OHC install in older Rangers (´96)
I followed the OHC install instructions from "
mossyoak03" which can be found here:
http://www.fordrangerforum.com/inter...e-install.html
The problem is that on older rangers (mine is a ´96) the mounting plate wont fit like explained on the "how-to", you need to modificate it!
In the picture below, you can see the 2 mounting holes for the screws should be moved. This is,
you need to drill 2 new holes near the mounting tabs in order to fit this plate in place.
After you drill those 2 new holes,
the rest of the installation is exactly the same as explained on the tutorial (I run the wires of the OHC threw the right A pilar, and the Autodim mirror threw the left A pilar)
Some pictores of them installed;
This is where i mounted the exterior temp. sensor; theres already a hole which has exactly the same diameter as the sensor bracket, will fit stright in!
I think if you have an older Ranger and you want to install this great mod... this is a very important information you should consider...
you wont have headaches!!!
