Default Question about Equipping turbo to 1994 2.3 lima

Bare with me here. So here's my question.

I only want about 7 psi of boost max. I don't want to swap out the ecu For a turbo coupe one. I was thinking I could just do this. Forged pistons, stock internals (which should be fine) , header off a merkurs or turbo coupe along will the turbo and 30 cc injectors. I'm not worried about the intercooler and the other things like that. My concern is can the stock ECU account for the extra air? Given that it's so far below normal boost levels I've read that it can. Also I'm not above getting the ecu tuned for my new specs and if I do that is there sensors I need to add or can I just go another route maybe something mechanical I can do?

What I'm trying to avoid is buying a turbo head, rewiring the ecu from a turbo car into my truck and going to a distributor and all that jazz. I'd rather just bolt it on with some fabricating here and there and upgrade the injectors and possibly the fuel pump if need be. THOUGHTS on this and is there a better way. Gotta be honest I just want a little better acceleration and the blow off valve noise lmao.
