on my 02 Edge I put a piece of shrink wrap tubing over the terminal. Find one that just fits and heat it to shrink it. Makes it real easy to remove, although pulling it back out required removing the relay next to it and prying this one out with a screwdriver. Pliers after the mod done this way just pulled the cap off the relay. Sits nice, snug fit, but not so much that you have to force it in. Thanks for the post on the mod. Worked great.

I put leds on my heater dials and cluster this past summer and seem ok then about an month ago my hazards did not work so thanks to this form I was told I need new relay so I bought the ep27 but due to extreme cold haven't installed it yet. However today I just noticed the heater dial lights were flickering. Does any one know why?? Thanks

I would say they are flickering due to not being seated into the socket very well.

So somehow i fucked this mod up. I pulled 48b, bent the prong pictured, put it back, and lost my fogs completely. I tried to rebend the prong, but couldnt get it straight enough to fit again...

Then I tried 48a , no luck either, same process as 48b. so both fuses now have the prong removed, still have no fogs.

ideas?

Did you have 48b straight before you did 48a?

If both sets of prongs are back to normal there shouldn't be a problem. Maybe you broke something in the fuse trying to bend it back?

Got my fogs back on with one new relay. cost me 18 damn bucks for a new one though... Fog light mod success!

Protip: Those textured, rubber dishwashing gloves work great for pulling those stubborn fuses if you dont want to risk breaking them with pliers.

Just did the mod on my 01. I used shrink tubing melted down in case I wanted to reverse the mod. It worked great. Thanks to everyone for a great forum. Oh and by the way it was relay 48-A.
