Re: Headlight Mod for 2001-2010
so i read thought and looked at all the pictures but did not come up with anything i wanted to know, so i will just ask.
so i want to do the headlights, but thought that painting them the color of my truck would look good, and unique.
has anyone painted there headlights any other color other than black?
my ranger is the sonic blue or what ever it is called. i see it most on edge models.
would this look good?
i think it would, but might be wrong. let me know!

I've seen some done red. I don't think it looks good, IMO. looks like ricer boy stuff.
Do them black or keep them chrome.

Re: Headlight Mod for 2001-2010
Ok, that makes since I guess.
Black does look good, just thought a monochromatic front might also.
You wouldn't happen to have a picture of said headlights would you?

Here's one thread but a search should produce more if needed.

Re: Headlight Mod for 2001-2010
i guess i sound stupid but i did search.
just not those words, and the forums search engine is crap.
but thanks!
so i looked that thread over, and think color matched looks like junk.
i will stick with black and be happy!
P.S.
i have some ultra black rvt gasget maker left over from when i did my differential oil change, could i use that stuff to reseal the lights?
they never "specifically" said and there are a million different things at the auto parts store.

Matching headlights make you look like a tool, unless your truck is black.
I just used some silicon caulk and that work fine.

Headlight Mod for 2001-2010
Eff me. I put some tape on and I remove it to position it better and it peeled up the mirror finish. So I thought I would be smart and plasti dip the whole thing then peel of the dip from inside the reflectors but nope. It peeled all I the finish off. It looks terrible. Time the HID retro that I have been putting off. Any suggestions?

Re: Headlight Mod for 2001-2010
Mine were weird.. I couldn't get them apart..
The plastic that was holding the two together was hard as a rock, even after 10min @ 250
So... I said f it and gave up. Doing one coat of niteshades instead :/
It's dryin now.

Re: Headlight Mod for 2001-2010
I do believe im doing this this weekend. just gotta wait for the wife to leave. she would have a spell if she found out I was actually gonna try to use the stove, especially if it is for something not intended for eating.

Re: Headlight Mod for 2001-2010
I'm having a lot of trouble getting the headlights apart.. Started off at 170 for 60 minutes (5 minute increments per the guide) with no results. Bumped it up to 200 degrees for another 60 minutes (also at 5 minute increments).
Does anyone have any suggestions? I didnt imagine getting them apart would be this frustrating.. haha.
Also, I'm using a brand new pair of OEM replacement headlights that I ordered from Rock Auto a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if this will make a difference as opposed to me using the stock housings from 04.
