nope! just open the hood
then pull up on the little tabs that hold the headlight in place.

haha yea no problem. mine were kind of annoying to lift up; i used a pair of channel locks, put a rag down on the metal and then pried.

You could remove the grill to give yourself a little more space, but its usually unnecessary. The hardest part, getting all of that damn stubborn glue crap off. PITA

i have found it easier to take out the headlights and corners without the grill on not to mention it gives u extra room to undo the bulbs from the housing

easiest thing to take off ur truck lol like 4 tiny screws on the top and afew clips on the bottom i use a flat head screw driver on the clips.

no prob. well my grill was off i also cleaned and repainted my flaking radiator and tranny cooler. if u do this dont put to much paint on them.

I'm getting ready to do this with a few very light coats of translucent black paint. if it comes out the way I hope, it'll look like something Ford could've done from the factory.
