This morning I'll pick up 2 new cornerlights in town for $25.00 each plus tax. Not going to heat and open them, but tape off the orange reflectors and lightly tint with Nite-shader.

^I thought of doing that.

People who get new lamps for this should install the new lamps on their truck and use their old ones to do the mod. I did it ass backwards.

I didn't shade the new sidelights, just put them on. Kind of weary of all the mess and frustration and extra cost. Enough already. They look good.

Is one full can of paint enough?

Finally have a Sunday off work so planning on doing this tomorrow. Still haven't picked up any clear corners yet, so I'll just do the main lights for now.

One full spray can of paint is enough for both headlights.

Did mine today, ended up having to bake mine at 250 for almost fifteen minutes. Tried at 200 at five min increments, then 225, and 250 finally got the job done. Though my oven is ancient and a POS, so that's probably why.

I am very interested in doing this, but curious as to how well the paint bonds to that surface? Is there no scuffing or sanding involved? I've painted surfaces like that before and it scratches right off

All you need to do is just paint right on it. The paint will bond on and stay on (as long as you don't scratch it or anything); which shouldn't be a problem considering the fact the headlamps will be sealed back up to their lenses and nothing will harm the paint.

Only way it would scratch is if you some how can bend your finger in there once you seal it up.
