How To: Graphics Eraser for removal of vinyl stripes
I have to say that a graphics eraser is by far teh easiest way to remove tape graphics, tape residue, ans double stick tape glue left by removal of badges.
This is the graphics eraser that I used to remove the badge gunk and vinyl graphics from my truck. It started out 3 1/2" in diameter and after removing all the graphics it was still about 2 1/5" in diameter so probably big enough to do another truck
The use of the wheel has a sweet spot in speed around 1200 rpm max. and a motion of straight up and down over the graphics with the wheel rotating towards the newly torn up edge of the graphic.
It moves rather quickly and keeping under control will make your job much easier, running it slower takes more arm strength but removes the tape quicker. It appears that the key is to keep the eraser on the edge that is hot from the friction. The picture below is about 2 minutes of work on this section.
There will be some places that you can not get the eraser into. To finish those places like around the edge of the bed, you can use your wife's blow dryer or commercial heat gun on low temp apply heat at about 4" from the truck until you see the torn up edge start to curl under the heat. use your fingernail to pull up the edge and remove the piece.
Before removal:
After removal:

After:
The entire process took less than an hour and the paint is not damaged in any way.

The problem with that is it still leaves much of the glue. this method removes 100% of it all
