I was told to do this mod for my B2300 2.3 that just tops out at 65/70 on the flats and drops to 55 in 4th on hills. I thought naaaaaaaaaaa my truck wont have a stretched cable. So after reading this thread, at 12 midnight, I took a flashlight out to my truck, and sure as shit, I lifted the gas pedal and have about 2-3" of slack!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow AM I am zip tying the bitch, I cant hardly wait to see how she drives now!!!!!!!! Thank you for posting this tidbit!

For what it's worth...

Arrow color code:

Blue: spring
Red: location for zip ties between spring and end nub of throttle cable
Yellow: end nub of throttle cable

Didn't think much of this but did it anyway last night. I had about 3/4" slack and put 2 ties on.

Drove it to work, and just got back home. All I've got to say is this is the dogs nuts.

Use this.. It's what you'll see if you look under your dash at the throttle cable attached to the top of the gas peddle.

Blue - spring
Red - Zip ties
Yellow - End of throttle cable

First step, get under there...i found it easiest to lie on my back with my head right near the gas pedal...it's def uncomfortable, but it's a quick job, so no sweat. When you look up, you'll see the following...

Next, pull up on the pedal...you will see the slack on the cable extend out from the spring....

You can either hold the pedal up, or prop something underneath...i attached the zip ties loosely, then tightened them 1 at a time. I guess it can work either way. I left the long ends on for the pic for clarity.
Snip 'em off and you're done. I def noticed a big difference in throttle response and jump off the line instantly...when i have time, im gonna cut the ones I put on there off, and go with smaller ones so I can get 3 on there, but for now, instant gratification.
+1

Did this on my dad's Sierra yesterday, and showed him how to do it on his Ranger once he gets back down to Florida to play around with it.

Does this sound right? Why would it be so expensive? My zipcode is 61310. Napa doesn't have them. Any suggestions??
This is probably too late to help you with the cable but this site may come in handy for other parts needed. http://www.fordparts.com/ they have throttle cables for around 60 bucks, I'm not sure how much shipping would cost.
