Just did this mod. My cable had a bit too much slack. After I took it for a drive and the pedal is much more responsive. I'm able to take off in first better now. Definitely a big difference for me.

Did this mod yesterday, it really works. I had enough extra slack to put three zip ties and the reaction time was very noticeable. A great cheap mod

Talking about throttle cable...

I finished installing 100% oem cruise control on my 96 Ranger. The only problem I found is that I cant attach the cruise control cable into my throttle cable. Yes, my truck is a 3.0 and the donor cable was also a 3.0, but 2002 or so.

Can anybody upload a pic where its shown how the CC cable attaches to the throttle cable?

BTW... if anybody has a 96, 97, 98 etc CC ervo/cable for sale LET ME KNOW!!!!

I was looking at doing this mod, but realized I don't have a spring on my throttle cable but the accelerator works fine. Is this normal? Can I still do the mod?

Just did this one. It's funny how much more power the Lima seems to have when the throttle plate opens more than half way, hahaha.

I did this mod about a week and a half ago and the difference is night and day. I was able to fit three zip-ties on the slack.

Thanks!

Pedal was loose and I found this thread, but when I went to install the ties I found this. (ducttape and a chunk of hose clamp)

Took 5 ties to get the thing taught.

The cable bends when I lay on the pedal so probably should just get a new throttle cable.

I did this mod a month ago and it made all the difference in the world!! Then about two weeks ago I did this mod to my friend's F-150 and said he can't believe the change it made. Nothing negative.
