I've use both my stock M/C and a M/C from an Explorer with a disk/disk set up. Both with no luck. any ideas? Should I try a Explorer M/C with a proportioning valve thats a disk disk set up? Seen those laying around here in my neck of the woods

I own a 2007 Ranger Sport 4x4 with 16" wheels. I asked the local Ford service dept., and no one knew whether my rear axle was a 28 or 31 spline. Does anyone know for certain?

Performance Parts, Inc. has a kit with Cobra Brembro rotors, pads, calipers, caliper brackets, and anti-moan brackets for $490. Seems like a time-saver to me. Your input welcome.

When talking 2003 & newer Rangers, only the FX4 lvl II's had 31-spline axles.

I did this to my 98 Cherokee. converted the rear to disk brakes with parts from a differential from a zj grand Cherokee. wonder if it will fit on the ranger also? I had to modify the brake shield from the zj dust shield.

DangerRanger01,
The parts that are in the pictures at the beginning of your thread about the Mustang to Ranger disc brake conversion appear to be new. Are they? If so, what new parts did you use?

Just bought all the parts at the local pull and pay in Orlando. Pulled all the required parts off a 2004 Mustang except for the dust shields. There was a 2002 next to the 2004 and it already had the axles removed so I goy those from the 2002. I cut the mounting bracket and in the process of cleaning the other stuff. I'm not much of a car mechanic but the in instructions in this thread seem to cover everything so I will let you know how it comes out. Has anyone in the Orlando area that has done this swap that could offer some assistance in case I need some. Thanks. Love the Ranger trucks as this is number 7 for me.

for the mustang brakes you need the axle brackets calipers caliper brackets rotors. the dust shields and the antimoan brackets are optional as far as brake lines i used the hard lines and the soft lines from a 2000's explorer
