Yes and no. Mustang rear differentials use coil springs and not leaf springs like a ranger does. You can make it work with fabrication. But for all the hassle it's not worth it.

Are you talking about the cross-pin & axle c-clips?

If so - Click: http://www.birtydastards.com/frm/ind...?topic=10780.0

It's not your specific axle - but the same general procedure needs to occur.

Once you're in there looking at it - everything should make perfect sense.

This quote from the 1st post really does explain the procedure quite well IMO:

I found a kit for those who are not sure about piecing together parts and/or modifying parts to adapt them. Kit is complete and under $600.

From the look, the mounts will still have to be modified. The parts are basically the fox body 5 lug conversion brake parts. Minus the axles.

I have a 2001 4.0L with the 8.8 / 4.10 limited slip.

Just did the swap over the weekend with cobra calipers, and when done, went to bleed the brakes and BOTH rear calipers were leaking from the parking brake spring bolt!!! No leaks from the banjo or the piston itself, it's coming directly out of the parking brake bolt.

Returned to autozone for new ones.

Anyone else ever have this happen?

Was bad calipers from Autozone... must have been missing the seal around the parking brake shaft bolt... Went through TWO sets and decided to go to a different brand and they work great.

The rear calipers are severely underpowered though... looking into a 4 wheel disc/proportion valve MC upgrade... Searching through the forums, but if anyone has some good ideas, please send my way. Thank you!

Searching around, but haven't really found an answer for this. Did the swap, everything went great and even got the e-brake line cut down. My only problem is that the pedal is still soft and the wheels still seem to spin when slamming on the brakes.

I've bleed the crap out of the system, replaced the old lines with new ones and even put in a MC from a Explorer. Only thing I can think of at this point is a bad booster or air in the ABS. Any ideas? Would really love having firm brakes and not really soft ones. Planning on towing some and going through the mountains, so brakes would be great.

May or not help but its not related to doing this swap even tho would love to do it but I don't have the mechanical knowledge to pull it off really...anyway I have had issues with my brakes and bled then to death and replaced everything and I finally said screw this and took it to a shop and said bleed the wheels and ABS!!! You need this special deal that hooks up to your obd to cycle it or some say go on a dirt road and lock em up but felt this was a better and safer solution...end result? Solid peddle finally!

Would try that see if it helps
