I do believe that it's the 31 spline FX4 level II rangers who have to swap axles. You should be okay, from my understanding.

Hopefully the picture shows this time.

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end
Does this mean I could put the rotors off a mustang in the front?

No, years ago you could buy a special machined hub to put mustang rotors on, as well as caliper relocation brackets. But i havent seen those for sale in a very long time.

Just to expand on that, the aforementioned bracket was fabricated by a member on some other Ranger forum, but he stopped making them a while ago. He also charged a few hundred bucks for them, so even if he did still make them, it would be an investment on your part. If you have some half-decent welding skills though, you could totally copy his work. You just need to make a bracket that moves the bolt holes out a little bit.

Would you only need to make a hub like the prior poster stated? Shouldn't be too hard to fab out an adapter bracket so connect to existing ranger hubs and allow the calipers to bolt onto.
But my question when I thought about using mustang fronts, was that the hub spindle was different and not compatible. That's why I stopped looking into it.
Do you happen to know where any pics of his work is? I could use that as a starting point.

Update on this, there is a way to swap in disk brakes for 31 spline Rangers.
