Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end
has anyone had any issues with the mustang rotors hub diameter? I measured the diameter at 2 3/4 while my axle (83 ranger 7.5 with 3.73 gears) at 2 1/2. I didn't pay much attention to this until my brakes started squeaking and when I pulled the the tire off the stud wholes on rotor are now wobbled out, obviously from the 1/4 of free play the rotor has around the axle hub. has anyone else had this issue or have a different rotor that will work?

Just take it easy with the welder if your going to weld on the tabs that come with the lines. They not very hard or thick and you'll melt or burn them quick if you put too much heat into them. I messed them up so bad I had to fabricate new ones.

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end
has anyone had a issue with the mustang rotors hub diameter being larger than the rangers axles hub diameter. The hub on my axle measures 2.5" and the diameter on the rotor is 2.75". My brakes started squeaking and when i took the tire off the wholes on the rotor are now wobbled out from the rotor apparently being able to move around on the hub. The lug nuts where not loose either. So i picked up new rotors and theres a good 1/4 inch of play in all directions when the rotor is on the axle.

It's been almost a year ago so I don't remember exactly but I don't think they were particularly fast.

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end
I bought my lines from jegs, I think it was like 40. You just have to find the size of the lines. I think the banjo bolt is 10mm and the other end is 3/8ths

These are the ones I used I think http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...ductId=1682813

Just got the rest of the parts I needed for the conversion! Well almost, I still need to get the brake lines. But I picked up the axle mounts today from a 35th anniversary mustang. Was untouched in the junk yard and the only one not sitting in mud. Now I'm gonna get a can of black caliper paint and clean the calipers and dust shields and mounts and paint everything. Gotta order a new set of pads too. Got the rotors cut for now. Hopefully will be on soon! Then I don't have to worry about the sticky rear drums.

Okay, curious as to why the mounts need to be cut? I haven't started the swap yet. Just wondering

Because the caliper bracket mounts to the inside (AKA - Backside) of the axle flange.
