Saws all had it cut in about 30sec each. Then took a little time with an angle grinder to clean it up

So I'm starting to pick up steel braided lines for all 4 corners of my truck. I found a guy selling some that will fit the rear. Problem is that they're 28" long. My plan was to just cut down the hard line and reflare it and run the steel braided hose attached to the differential. Would it be bad if I run a hose that long? I'll make sure to install it so it doesn't get caught on any bushes or rocks. What do you guys think. I'm getting an awesome deal on these lines.

Is there any place to buy a full kit to do the rear brake swap? Like the mounting plates and calipers and stuff? I know they need to be modified but I need new brakes and would love to do the swap. But don't wanna have to sit at the junkyard and pull it all.

If you have a lot of money then yes there is. All you need is the backing plates and anti-moan brackets from the junk yard. The rest buy new from local auto parts store.

This would be the entire kit right? I could get a 5 lug conversion kit for a foxbody mustang couldn't i? The rearends are the same.

Nevermind the brackets and stuff cost lots of $$$ might have to opt for just replacing my brakes

Well if everything that's in the picture is included it would be pretty much all you need. You would still need brake lines though.

Junk yards are cheap. Got all my brackets and such for $10.

Are the calipers and rotors year specific to the brackets?

No, not really. What you have to look for is whether it is a '94-'04 Mustang, and whether it is a Cobra SVT or not. If you go GT calipers, you'll want to match up GT rotors as well (GT parts are bigger than stock, smaller than Cobra parts).

Also, an FYI: If you can get rotors at a JY, and they look in good condition, you can go to an auto parts store like O'Reilly's, and they can measure it to make sure it's safe, and turn it as well, if need be.

I gotta get gt brakes. I'm running 15s and te cobra stuff will be a lot of money. I'm gonna go to the junkyard and see if I can get the brackets and stuff. I just put new shoes on my truck but they are already bad and my drums are bad too. So instead of spending the money to replace it, might as we'll upgrade.

Question I have is, are your axle seals good? If they're leaking oil, then it would soak everything inside the drum. I had this happen to me well before I upgraded. If you're leaking oil, upgrading won't do a bit of good, so take a look and make sure that everything on the axle is in good working order. Otherwise, it won't matter.

Also, find out why your drum brakes have already worn out, after replacing them. Could be that something wasn't put on right, or wasn't adjusted right--they could be too tight or too loose. Check your brake lines, as well, and make sure that they aren't leaking fluid, as that can cause the side that is leaking to not wear out as fast.

Lastly, if your shoes aren't seated yet, that can also cause premature wear. The proportioning valve, as well, if it is malfunctioning can cause the rear brakes to wear faster. Just go through and make sure that you don't find something out of whack, otherwise you have to correct that first before upgrading.

My rearend isn't leaking. Just swapped it with a new one. And my brakes were done but my drums weren't to good. I'm guessing that the drums wore them out.

I do not know but I would just buy stock brake lines that come with mustang brakes. If you feel like saving a few. or go with stainless steel braided ones as the best option
