What did you cut the backing plate with. I use a saws all for everything but I don't want to over do it lol.

No way to further test as far as I now.

Um I, not the best way but wanted to get the disc brakes on. First took everything off so it is just the Backing plate. Take the four bolts that hold it on off as well so you can move it freely. Then I Took the death tool (That's what I call it) with a cutting disc. While you have someone holding it in place with a rod of some sort on an angle cut a V out of it as far down that you can on two sides. Then I just took a hammer and forced it off. That is what I did Not the safest way but just took some force. Hated them anyways and got some anger out

If you choose this way just be safe and wear goggles and gloves

Which type did you get? I saw these from AutoZone at a good price but when I google the part number they look completely different.

Doesn't mater what brand as long as they are dot approved. Mine are 9in long lines with a 3/8x24 inverted flare female end and a 10mm banjo on the other. They work perfect for this swap. I also replace the line to the axle and the front brake lines.

Yeah I'm not worried about the brand, I'm just wondering if the one in the picture would work since its not the square that comes stock on the caliper

Pretty good results so far. Paid $100 for this 98 mustang rear end.

As you can see, pretty rough shape but I like challenges.

Rotors after bead blasting and turning.

^^why? you coulda saved money buying just the calipers and flange brackets, then got new rotors.. seems like more work and more money than needed..

No yards here will sell rear ends by the piece. Bead blasting and turning was done by a friend at no cost. And when I'm finished I'll sell or scrap the rest and get back a few bucks.

Besides, it just feels cool taking old parts and breathing new life in them.

Just making sure this is the 3/16 inverted male flare fitting?

What about the axle mounting flanges/brackets (the ones to be modified)? Do they fit both cobra and GT calipers? I am going to do the conversion to GT disc brakes since I have 15" wheels.
I am looking to buy the flanges/brackets on line, but I only see flanges for cobras...I would like to be sure before buying. Thanks for your help.

I would go to the junk yard a hell of a lot cheaper (Got both mine and anti-moan for $15). And I am pretty sure they are the same thing

That is a good option but I am not familiar with mustangs and might pick up the parts from the wrong car...all I know is they have to be from 94-04 mustangs.

Those are the only years that you will find in the junk yard anyways. Can't screw it up. All cars at the junk yard should say the year. just find one and it takes about 30 minutes to remove everything.
