Thanks.
Auto anything sells a big brake kit for the front. This is a sweet mod. Have yet to do it myself but have a couple friends who have and they love it.

Wink Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end

How did you get the caliper brackets off the Mustang axle in one piece? Cut the axle tubes? So Ford factory slides the brackets on, then welds the flange in place?

As to the major cut-out of the caliper bracket, I hear what you're saying about the remaining 3 bolts having adequate total shear strength, but--and this approaches theoretical--it would seem you've created some torsional asymmetry in how the braking moment is transmitted to the axle tube... splitting hairs?

Also, there used to be some State DOTs that cared about such mods... probably not anymore.

Finally... HOW ARE THOSE PUPPIES HOLDING UP?

On the mustangs the flange bolts to the outside of the axle tube. Due to ranger axle tube spacing you have to mount it on the inside. This is common practice on a lot of after market disc brake kits.

I have had mine on for about 2.5 years no issues besides the usual mi salt distroying the slid pins but that's common on any disc brake up north. No issues with the flange or any of the set up.

Mines been on for over a year now and have no problems with it. The pics and instructions on here are really good. just read them over like 3 to 4 time so you don't miss anything. I actually copy and paste everything onto Microsoft Word and made a binder for it.

Got a question, being stationed in Germany is kinda putting me behind the curve, as we don't have junk yards or pick a parts here. eBay is a bust, and I've tried different sites but said screw it.

Anyone want to source parts from their local pick a parts? I'll pay for the parts, shipping and your time if you will.

Thanks guys.

Try this guy on Ebay. Send him a message and he will gather the parts you need and sell them too you. I bought my rear disk brake set up from him. He even turned my rotors for me.
