Do the GT and cobra have the same bracket and dust shield, just different anti-moan, rotors, and calipers?

Opening up more discussion
I have been looking over this thread and a few other sources of information. It seems to me that this could be done a little bit differently by mounting the bracket in the traditional way and then spacing the rotor off the hub a but with a wheel spacer?

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end
Alright question about how much money should I be looking to spend at the JY for the bracket, anti moan, dust shields, and calipers?

Less than $100 for the lot.

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end
So I did this over the weekend (the WHOLE weekend; what a NIGHTMARE!). I end up using mustang soft lines, calipers, and rotors (from 99-00 mustangs at the local junk yard).
A few observations:
* If you want to use the stock mustang brake lines and attach them to your existing hard lines, find two drivers side mustang lines; the passenger side is no good. You'll have to bend one of them to make it fit, but it's worth it versus trying to use a drivers side line.
* The parking brake needs some adjustment - namely, cut down the springs by around 1" so they will fit properly in the calipers. This is a pain in the ass; good luck. The copper pipe method does work as advertised Also, your parking brake will feel very "soft" afterwards, compared to the stiffness of a drum parking brake. You can adjust a lot to try and compensate, but I didn't bother; it's solid as-is.
* The brake brackets might not fit against the flanges on your axle due to the welding on the tube. I had to grind down the inside of the brackets a bit to fit over the welds without needing to add more washers (which is a major problem due to the length of the caliper bolts).
* Maybe it's just me, but the pedal isn't as "solid" after the conversion. I don't know if the brake cylinder can really handle four wheel disc as well as it should. That being said, the stopping power is immense and almost comical. The ranger really doesn't need disc brakes.
Here's a pic from this morning (the zip ties will be replaced with proper straps tonight):

I didn't grab the dust shields, but I did get the rotors. I got the following for $76 (self pull)
2x rotors (good enough shape to have turned)
2x mounting brackets
2x anti-moan brackets
2x calipers
I agree with the other response that anything under $100 is good.

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end
A couple more pictures showing some actual detail (I still haven't gotten those better tie downs yet; zip ties won't last in my environment, especially since the ones I used are so small.

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end
the little bit of squish in the pedal you feel is from the rubber lines, mine does the same thing. I will be ordering up some Stainless Steel brake lines for all 4 corners soon.
