Yeah about that. Mine took a little less than 2.5, more like 2.3. But I change mine on somewhat of a slope so I might not have gotten it all out.

Anyone know how often this is supposed to be done? I'm at 72,000 and I'm not sure that it's ever been done on my truck. Not having any issues shifting, though.

Re: M5 Manual Transmission Fluid Change
FYI guys, found it in the owners manual and it is every 50,000. Must have somehow missed it when I looked before.

Re: M5 Manual Transmission Fluid Change
Just bought my truck at 145K. It shifts kinda (2nd, 4th and esp 5th). I can even feel the teeth sometimes in 2nd. i usually try to let the rpms match to help. I was wondering if anybody has tried the lucas tranny fix with new fluid? I did in my 96 saturn and that stuff was amazing. i'm thinking its original fluid so should I put mercon V in the first time for a couple thousand miles to let cleaners remove the crap and then change again with 1/2qt Lucas tranny fix? Or has anybody tried the B&M trick shift? Anyways good write-up. I wish everyone knew both auto and manual transmissions need thier fluid changed, way to many people ignore this service.
