thanks for the info fx4. i didn't have that glass paint that everyone usually uses so i just went with what was local. in hindsight i should have probably ordered the glass paint online when i ordered the HVAC controls. oh well. i mostly just wanted to document in photos how easy this is because i was kind of intimidated before starting with it (so intimidated i didn't want to mess with my only controls and ordered a spare to play with)

here's some pics to show how it's not as blue as the rest of my stuff, so i still need to work on that plastic sheet or something...

I see your gauges are blue what bulbs did you use and how many. Appreciate the help. Thanks

Looks too much like work! JK. Knowing me I'd probably screw something up, or snap something on the dash.

I did this mod a while back after reading this and it turned out pretty good and it looks good with my blue headunit. My question is now, is it possible to to the same thing on the main dash gauges. I have a feeling it would be just as easy just with more parts. Just figured I ask here to see if anyone has tried or is thinking the same way I am.

I'm also wondering about this specifically.

I disassembled the gauge cluster this weekend to check and I think it would probably be easier to replace the white bulbs with colored ones and print out custom gauges. I'm not so sure you could sand that membrane but I could be wrong. I'd be curious to know what others have done to get their gauges blue. I took pictures but unfortunately forgot to upload them.

I took gels from par can lighting, cut them to the shape of the plastic piece inside the hvac controls, and then just laid it behind the faceplate.
