I did this today. Im happy with the sound. With my air box, it still sucks air from outside the engine bay, so im content.

just did this. easiest thing EVER. makes me wanna go buy a K and N though.

took it for a test drive after. had a little difference in sound. it sounded deeper and is a nice little difference.

on acceleration it felt as though it had less of a "drag" to it, and that it accelerated easier and a little faster. only question i have is that is this what i should expect? or am i just hoping that this is true and just looking for improvements?

Well guys and gals, I have just completed recharging my K&N air filter and removing the snorkel from my air box, and I can tell a little difference. But I'll tell you why I can not tell a real difference is because I drank in the process of the whole ordeal. So, I will post again tomorrow to let you know what I really think about this modification. It is easy, and if you put some wd40 or bp blaster on the specific area mentioned, it makes the process go way smoother. I'm looking forward to giving the full results of the mod tomorrow. Have a great night! I love friday!!!

I've not noticed any real gain in regards to power, but when I turn on the AC, truck seems to not hesitate much anymore. And I am being honest about this. In order to prove me wrong, I reinstalled the snorkel, and it felt as if it was choking. Removed it again, and the choking is less.

I can tell my truck is breathing a little better and has a little different tone. Gives you something to do if you like tinkering with stuff.

I just did a full tune up. Maybe it was a bad round of gas. Instead of getting 31 mpg, I got 25.

i did it. didn't really notice anything. than again the stupid rev limiter wouldn't let me rev it hi. still think its worth it; love tinkerin with the truck. so if anything its a good excuse to spend some quality time with your truck.

and i wouldn't suggest using WD40 because it is a petroleum product and can deteriorate the rubber grommets. i doubt it will but theres always the possibility.
