Ok so I figured out that a small crowbar will fit between the engine and radiator and the flat encamped slide up under the box. Once I got that it popped right off.

I used teflon lubricant to get it off. It worked a lot better than the wd-40 i tried. Took a lot of pulling but it finally came off. Make sure you spray the lubricant down into the holes not around the edges

Twist/turn the circular tube snorkel and pull it out. Then put the box back in and put your sit filter and intake lid all back.

Look at the pics in the first part of the how to.

Easy simple mod, just a little struggle to pull that box out.

Been driving with this done for a couple days. Sounds mean at high RPM's. I can't wait to get my exhaust done now

I just did this yesterday.

It's ok I guess.... Can't really hear a difference unless I really get on the gas. I'd imagine though it would actually suck more air because of the tube... it would act like a vacuum...

But who knows.. my little 2.3l isn't going to know the difference with it on or off..lol

Anyone have any experience with any of the vortex type products? (i.e. a fan that supposedly increases airflow through the intake)

They're all a joke that will reduce performance.
