You gotta pull pretty damn hard...pull the side towards the motor straight up

I tried from standing next to the right fender (right if your in the cab), no good.
I tried from on an angle in front of the headlight and no good.

I was almost pulling at full strength as well..

I pulled from the right fender in (towards the driver's side) first to get the side grommets loose first then just pull straight up, dont worry it wont break, i fought mine for a good 10-15 minutes before it broke loose, it helps to spray some wd-40 or something on the grommet/plug things holding it in, thats what I did

The 4.0 intake design hasn't changed much since it was invented. You should be fine.

Doubt I will take the silencer off of mine, but it does have me thinking of getting a K&N filter for it. I have had them on a few other cars of mine before but never on my truck. I especially liked reading about someone getting 30MPG with that and a better exhaust. So far the best I have gotten is 28, it seems to vary of course.

Def going to do the zip tie thing though with my throttle if it needs it! Something I didn't see get mentioned in the thread about that mod was if it opened the throttle "too much". I wouldn't want to hurt it by forcing it to open more than it is capable of doing.

You wouldn't, all your doing is modding your throttle cable back to the way it was when you bought your truck.

I've been trying to get off the bottom box for at least 30 minutes. I've sprayed wd-40 and everything. Is there some trick I can do to get it off any easier? It hasn't even budged
