I clipped that first little clip to the speed sensor. Mines lifted a little more so I had to but if you feel uncomfortable with the tension just un clip it.

No you don't need to touch the steering stops. I still have mine on. Just make sure you grind enough away because that will definitely affect your turning radius. You'll notice right away when you turn your steering wheel whether you've grinded enough.

No, the previous brake shield will no longer work for the new spindle. Not going to hurt anything.

Default Re: How To: 3" Doetsch Spindle Install

So been driving with the truck with the spindle lift for a week now. Have a question, when I am taking turns I get more tire squeal... mind you I am not taking turns like I would in my STi but I believe roughly the same speed as I always did in the ranger but now I can definitely hear the tires making noise... Is this normal for when someone lifts a vehicle?

Other than that I really like how the truck is. After putting on 2" (1 7/8th actually) OEM lift blocks in the rear along with the shackles it's a nice look for the truck! I wish I would have done this sooner.

I'll get some pictures up in the morning.

Thanks,
-Nigel

Your alignment is probably off. My camber was noticeably more negative after doing the spindle.

That would make sense! I'll take the truck in tomorrow to get aligned.

On another note to anyone doing this as stated be careful with the ABS sensors. I was able to get mine out by wacking them with a mallet to free them since they were definitely seized in the old spindles. When I did that I noticed that the face of them depressed a little bit and you could see a small indentation. My ABS was not illuminated and when I drove all seemed fine. However... when I was coming to a stop at certain slow speeds less than about 5mph, the front end would go like I was on ice and the ABS would be kicking on/off... it was really annoying. I figured hey it might be a spacing issue. But then after verifying that the spacing was fine I concluded that it was the ABS sensors and the deformed cap from smacking them out...

Bought new dorman abs sensors on Amazon, and put them in and the problem has been cured...lol

I have read that some people are ok with that and my ABS still activated if pressed HARD on the brakes but the coming to a slow stop and having it activate was annoying as hell not to mention sounded like ass. Just an FYI as a possible added expense incase one damages their abs sensors.

Yikes that's not very safe. Glad you got it all squared away. Let's see some pics of that truck all finished with spindles installed.

It's shitty out and raining. Here's three pictures.

I do wish I had bigger tires but oh well...lol 32" would look sweet I think but I'm not buying new ones. I just got these I think 6 months ago.

I'll have to find pictures of the rear before the 2" blocks. It's subtle but it was a little saggy before I put the blocks and new shocks on.

4" spindle lift with extended cab new front springs. Rear lift shackles and 1 7/8th OEM lift blocks/new shocks.

Before the rear blocks. This is the spindle lift and rear shackle lift. Sorry for shitty picture.. too much shade.

BEFORE any of it...lol

Got alignment done yesterday. My toe was all out of whack from what the dude said.
they had to align it twice because it was reading off their scale the first time. Now no more tire chirping when going around turns..lol

Add that to the cost of spindle lift... ALIGNMENT, get one done!
