We also got the 2001+ spindles. If you get 98-00 spindles you don't need them.

Has anyone with just an XLT had breaking issues? If I'm reading all of this right it looks like only guys with Edge and Sport models have had problems.

Hah, no I meant issues with your breaks. Stopping. I was reading that people were having problems with their breaks going out, but it looked like it was only on t-bar suspension. I could be wrong though.

Brakes vs. Breaks.

Oh, Brakes. What a wonderful thing the English language can do.

I haven't had any first hand experience with the brakes failing but you shouldn't chance it and find out the hard way. Grind off what is necessary.

I'm currently in my garage replacing my broken spindle so I can take a picture of what I grinded since you have the same suspension design as me.

The fuck are you grinding on? You don't grind anything for brakes.

You grind the lip on the lower control arm to re-gain steering.

I think the Edge/Sport models have a problem with caliper clearance and lose braking pressure, as well as steering. Not too sure.

Didn't know, I haven't installed lift spindles multiple times or anything.

Jesus fuck can anybody give the guy a solid answer?

The problem on Edge/Sport/Explorer T-Bar trucks is that the caliper makes contact with the bump stop that is on the side of the control arm. At this point the brakes loose pressure, and you lose breaks. As soon as you turn the wheels back to straight, your brakes are fine again. If you grind off the bump stop on each control arm, you won't have this issue.

You can see the bump stop in the picture below. It's the thing that looks like a wart or a boil.
