Hey, couldn't I just take the diff cover off to paint it? Or would that pose some kind of problem?

i would only take it off if you're planning to service the diff (new diff fluid). otherwise you'll have a mess on you're hands, & probibly the ground too, lol.

i painted mine IH red a while back, just used a peice of cardboard to prevent overspray. took mabe 5 minutes, 2 coats.
