So obviously you messed up somewhere, if i can recall how i did it. I believe i ran the leds through my cupholder to a switch on the driver side of the floor console, then from there i ran my ground to the airbag module located under the floor console/cupholder which is easy to remove. Then i used a wire tap to TAP INTO( not splice, electrical tape will not last for eternity, these clips will) the cig lighter and then connected this to a switch. My switch has 3 terminals, copper is ground. The two steel are positive and negative. Meaning you must connect the led wires together then run them to a single terminal, then one terminal to the cig lighter, and like i said copper is ground.

1) wire taps or suitcase clips as I like to call them are garbage. Do I still use them? Yes. Theyre easy to use and when you want to take out whatever it is you wired in you can BUT they add unnecessary resistance to the given circuit. The best way is soldering with heat shrink. Always end of story. But that's not always the easiest.

If you woulda payed attention i said i used the airbag module as a ground, aka the one of 4 bolts that bolt it in.

And what is this fucking rocket science? Come on people use your head, its some little fuckin leds that pull hardly any power. Its not like im runnin a 12 inch sub off my god damn cig lighter. Use your head it does not make a single difference. I dont care about resistance, nothing bad will EVER happen out of the way i wired it. Would you like to bet on that?

Wow big fail tapping into the airbag module for a ground....that's a good way to get the airbags to blow up in your face

You're right its not rocket science. So why are you still doing stupid shit? Need a ground? Use one of the many body grounds throughout the cab of the truck or make a new one. Do shit right the first time so I won't have to say I told you so later on.

No there is only one switch. That shuts off the hot wire coming from the 12volt accessory.. See I put a tap on the hot wire behind the dash on the 12volt that comes down to the switch then I have one hot wire (when the switch is on off course) that goes to the driver side and the passenger side. And the hot wire coming off of the lights I have a tap on. So one wire with two taps for each light.

Check the tap for the side that doesn't work. They can be a little finicky sometimes.

Yeah I will have to do that again. What I need is a test light to see if I have power to the light. If I do then I know it is a ground problem then.

In case it hasn't been said before, LEDs are polarity sensitive. It could be your second strip has the wires backwards.

On the passenger side I have the red (on the strip) hocked to the black wire which is (hot) and the white wire which is hocked to the black(on the strip) wire. So your saying on the driver side switch it... Ok now what will happen if it is not suppose to be that way will it pop the fuse or will it spark?

LEDs are diodes it won't do anything if you wire them backwards

Well I figured it out. The tap did not cut into the wire. Now both sides work!!
