My LEDs don't rurn off with the dome light they stay on all the time. I just have the hot wire wrapped around a tooth on the dome light fuse and grounded to a self taping screw. I heard something about having to ground it to the dome light wire so it doesn't recieve constant power. Any thoughts? This is really frustrating me!

That's why Iam going to put mine to the cig lighter with a switch. Just in case I would get pulled over I can turn them off. It is illegal but it is not illegal until you get caught! Lol

Me being me, I couldn't tolerate having something plugged into the cig lighter all the time, unless you're talking about hooking up to the wires that go to it. It's just not clean enough. Hidden wires are my favorite.

Iam talking about hiding the wires. Not using the cig lighter! Just the wires for hot and ground then going to put a switch on the line. I agree with with you I hate stuff plugged into the cig lighter.

Nope he definitely said tap. Having some good electrical tape on hand isn't a bad idea. By wire tap he means suitcase clips.

Yeah, i wouldnt use tape, use a tap. Will never come undone, and my switch only lights up when the leds are on.

Taps are easiest but I'd prefer to solder it. My personal preference though.

Ok.. Now I know what you mean. Yeah I can use them. First I need to look and see where I want to mount my switch at. Then find the 12 volt wires under the dash.
