Well, like you said, it only took you a half hour the first time haha

Another quick question. What do you have it grounded to? I see the picture but I can't really make out where the ground screw is in the truck.

i had self tapping screw into the cab right there where the lil panel comes off on the side of the dash. had it there before i did this mod, it was there for my light relay ground so i just tapped into it.

Nice. I don't know much about electrical stuff, but you can pretty much ground the wires anywhere that is bare metal, right?

any bare metal body/frame location will work. or just find a wire that's a ground for something. it all goes to the same place.

This has been so helpful!!! but my ultimate goal is to have the LED's on anytime i have the headlights (lowbeams) on. I was trying to find the wire connected to the switch. I basically want the LED's to come on when i turn the switch for the headlights to come on. I cannot find any info anywhere. Any idea which wire will let me do this? I did try one wire however it was the red/yellow wire with a larger guage and when i hooked it all up the wire is constantly hot which is not what i was looking for. I need a wire that will be ground until the switch is flipped and then becomes hot. Any replies would be much appreciated!!! Thanks again!!!

from what i can find you need the blue/orange wire to be your positive trigger wire

and you might want to make a signature so people can be of more help in cases like this where truck info makes a difference follow the link in my signature

I didnt see that blue/orange wire you were talking about. Are you sure that is the one? I only noted there was an orange, blue/red, blue/purple, orange/black, and a blue wire. Let me know if you find anything. Thanks for all the help!

Try using a digital multi meter on the orange wire. Turn the low beams on and if it gets power then thats it.

I defo want to do this. The dome light is too dark for me lately. Footwell lighting would be kosher.
