Re: How To: Fuel Filter replacment on 2001-2011 Ranger
So two people so far said they didn't empty the tank, STL, whats the advantage of emptying the tank, and why do you recommend 3 hours?

Didn't empty the tank.
3hours was to let it sit for some time so the pressure would not be high.
I have done it before right after driving, and removing the fuse and starting it, and letting it die. Still did not help much.
Those that say they did not remove fuse or let it die more then likely did it when the truck had sat for some time.

Re: How To: Fuel Filter replacment on 2001-2011 Ranger
I'm going to be doing this soon,
the spot i usually park in is on a hill, truck facing uphill (nose up). As far as making a mess, will that make it harder to change the fuel filter? or should I be fine as long as I get rid of the pressure, as the tank is lower than the filter when parked uphill?

On the kind you got. You need a tool it slides in the clip to release something I believe. Then the line will pop off.

Not positive. Crawl under and see if it is metal or plastic.

Re: How To: Fuel Filter replacment on 2001-2011 Ranger
follow this how to..to the DOT! unless you want gas in some unwanted placed (I.E, Your face)...getting gas on u makes for a unwanted expierence.
i barely waited 3 hours before doing this cuz i had some free time and decided to do it...VERY EASY To do...just gotta wait to do it lol
i also forgot to start the truck after removing fuse..shoulda read this how to (again) before deciding to do it

I should probably add that removing the fuel cap also helps.
