I think I might mic the hole bushing and drill the holes instead... if possible. I hope not to have to, or to minimize the amount of, grinding.
My son just finished gunsmith school and he could do a great job of that. A drilled hole should be straighter and so make contact more evenly with the bushing and maybe last longer.
Nothing against the way you do it, I tend to be over analytical sometimes and it likely doesn't matter on my 14 year old truck but that's me. You should see the transom I am building for my aluminum flat-bottom boat, heh, talk about overkill!
