Any of that will work. Its all about what you think is the best way. I have weather tight male/female connectors. All I have to do is unplug them and the the extra wire, plug them where they are suppose to go and its back to stock.

If you look at the pics with the arrows painted on it, you'll see how I did my blinker mod(5 years ago I might ad).
The only thing you are changing, is that you are taking the ground of the cornerlight and splicing it into the turnsignal hot. The corner light leads in stock form go to running light and ground.....now after this mod it'll be running light and turn signal. Many chevys are wired like this from the factory.
Here's a vid showing what it does...

Heres the mod integrated into taillights...

Wire nuts DO NOT belong on a 12v vehicle system with stranded wire...
My edit button disappeared on my last post....but the pics I mentioned earlier, STL posted them on the last page.

After looking under the hood, it looks like this should work on my '97. But for clarification, what generation rangers will this mod work for?

check the muffler bearings too, those are often signs of electrical problems.

:sigh:
...or, as it says on the package instructions, for any blinking light application. Here, we are modifying a non-blinking light to blink, so it will require the suitable application of blinker fluid. alternatively, if you have the XLT, EDGE, TREMOR, or FX4 Level II package, there is a blinker fluid reservior that is individually plumbed out to the variouis blinking lights on the truck -- in that case, you can either buy stand-alone blinker lights (with their own reservior), or use standard bulbs and patch the bulb housings into the existing blinker fluid reservoir network.
