Ok I guess the first page was so busy I blew right pass it. I really don't need any more light. My flashers are so bright already. I mean when I turn my signal on I can see it reflect off overhead signs a half mile away. don't think I'll be doing this hack. Pretty cool coming up with it though.

Must have the sliverstar bulbs. I do as well along with silverstar bulbs in the corner lights. It lights up even more with this done. Just kinda a cool mod. it is a conversation starter if another ranger owner sees it.

I am seriously thinking about doing this one.
Seems the front turn signals on too many newer vehicles are difficult, or impossible to see during daytime when you are at a 4-way stop, 90* to the other car, because of the turn signal being incorporated in with the headlight. I've never taken note if this is the case with 2001 on up Rangers.
This will also help alert other drivers of your intention of changing lanes on the freeway.
I find the instructions in the original post to be very clear and straight forward.

If you are at a 4 way stop and say facing south and vehicle on your east would not see your main turn signal which is in the headlight assembly. With this the corner light now blinks so they would see it.

Exactly.
I find it odd Ford didn't do this to begin with.
GM vehicles had front markers that flash as turn signals since '68 when side markers were mandated. They do on my '70 Buick Riviera. I think GM still does this. I might be wrong though.

I know all Volkswagen cars have marker/turn signal lights on the fenders which is nice.

It is a brand of light bulb. if you dont know what it is then chances are you dont have it.

I have these exact ones. They are blue but light up amber color.

Just randomly reading through this and wanted to point this out.

It should be noted in the actual How To that this mod will not work if you have LED bulbs, even the LED switchbacks.

There may be a way to correct it with resistors, but I don't know how.

Not entirely true. I have had LED bulbs in and Led Switchbacks in and it works just like normal. You have to install a EP27 flasher.

EP27 flasher autozone

I installed the EP27 flasher and it still didn't work, maybe something was different about my corner LED bulb. I also have switchbacks

I just did this mod this evening.
Pretty quick to do. Instead of using a tap in the black wire, I used a female connector and the my other wire coming from the blinker I put a male connector. If I need to reverse it, all I have to do is put a male on the other cut wire and connect them back.

Also a quick question, are the lights suppose to blink at the same time or are they suppose to alternate??

I swear when I did the driver side first, I tested it and it was alternating back and forth between the two. Then when I did the passenger one and tested it, they blinked together. I was like what the heck, so I tried the driver side again, and that one was now blinking together, not alternating like before.
I'm a little stumped.

Ok I think I did goof up. When I turn my running lights on, only my drivers side corner light comes on.
When I turn the left blinker on, that corner blinks with the lower blinker.

My right corner which isn't coming on, when I turn my right blinker on, the corner and the lower blinker blinks but alternates.

Did I tap and cut into the wrong wires??
What gives?
