It's very likely the same steps. Try it and report back.

Great info STL. I couldn't get it to work the first couple of times that I tried it, I was having the same problem as others, where the light was not coming on after step 5. So I slowed down and left the belt plugged in for about 2 seconds each time it said to plug it in, and bingo, the light came on and I was able to finish up the procedure.

If everyone would just wear their seatbelt then there would be no need to deactivate the BeltMinder.
If the person driving this truck would have been wearing his seat then they would not have bolted into the rear view mirror and had their head cut open.
#2 They wouldn't have busted the dash on the passenger side and their head would not have went through the windsheild.
I don't know how the laws are everywhere else, but here in Kentucky if you don't wear a seat belt and get caught it's a $75 fine and a cop can pull you over for just not wearing one.

it's not an issue of wearing the belt while driving the truck on a public road, i'm in favor of wearing it. it's when on the farm, backing up a few feet, other random things that i do (when seatbelts aren't necessary) that makes the chime annoying. i wear the damn thing in my old 67 ford when on the road, and it doesn't have a shoulder strap!

I just took a look in the owners manual for the 2011 Ranger, the instructions for deactivation and activation are in there. You have to do each side seperatly and they can not be done durring the same key cycle.
